Dad

Hello Friends,
Today's poem is an old one. Some 27 years old infact. I lost my Dad at the tender age of 19 and the impact on my life was profound. I wrote this in the ensuing months, as I struggled through my grief.

Dad

Skipping beside you
I was in awe
Could never find
No crack nor flaw
My one perfect giant
Towering and strong
A Loving father
In my hearts song

But life was cruel
And I could not see
The twisted turns
In-store for me
You tried to teach
Worked so hard
But life dealt us
The cruelest card

It took you away
Before I was grown
In one sad day
I felt so alone
I couldn’t conceive
In my grieving mind
Your dying thoughts
When left behind

Then my eyes cleared
Seeing through the mist
That leaving me then
Was never your wish
It pains my soul
That you’ll never see
With all you flaws
You were perfect to me.

When Your World Smiles

Good afternoon All,
This poem is all about smiling and what a smile can generate.
I would like to dedicate today's poem to my on-line friend Mr Mark He never ceases to cheer me up with his randomness and fiendish comments. To me it deserves recognition and here it is. Mr Mark *Wiggles Eyebrows,* this ones for you.

When Your World Smiles.

When all around are loosing theirs.
The best thing we can do.
Is straighten up like we don’t care.
And smile the moment through.

The world can be the saddest place.
Let us save it with our smiles.
So take that frown from off your face.
Lets all grin like crocodiles.

If someone barks in disrespect.
And makes you really mad.
Show a smile that will infect.
Don’t show them that your sad.

A smile is a contagious thing.
We see them here and there.
A twinkling eye, a baby’s grin.
That friend who really cares.

So if smiling now could save us all.
Let us smile at everyone.
And when your world's better place.
You know where it’s begun.

Pleasured Skin

Good evening,
My poem this evening, is about a chance encounter. Where chemical attraction surpasses all other human emotion… Until that moment when your sexual desire is met. Enjoy ;)

Pleasured Skin

That secret look, a passing glance.
The slightest hint of hot romance.
A bold remark with rushed intent.
Impulsive moment, heaven sent.

The second meeting, bold embrace.
Passions entwined as you encase.
Beating hearts on pounding flesh.
All faculties now dispossessed.

Sighed moans on pleasured lips.
This amber nectar you both sip.
This lustful journey you begin.
Indulged in each others skin.

Uninspired

Hello All,
I wrote this today as I could not finalise some previous work and struggled to find a muse. This sprang into my head and away I went. Hope you are inspired by Uninspired.

Uninspired

Your dried up and your flow is wrong.
Your days of penning seem so long.

The flare you had just can’t be fired.
Your lost and feeling uninspired.

Remember why you write those lines.
Freeing you from your confines.

How your words can bring a tear.
And fill a heart with dread or fear.

How your words can be a precious find.
Make a difference or change a mind.

Your words are from your very heart.
They define ‘you’ as you impart.

Death

Good Evening,
Another late post and for this I apologise. Todays poem is about my interpretation of death and how it stalks us.

Death

The quiet unfolds, tis the dead of night
As you hide away till mornings light

Your heaving chests all rise then fall
As you succumb to sleeps deep call

Tentatively I rise and creep
About you as you lay and sleep

I’m cold amongst you as I wonder
And watch you as I think and ponder

If I was watched when I was mortal
Before death dragged me to it’s portal

Yet rest I can’t and so I creep
About you all in bliss full sleep

But my duty here do not dismiss
As to you I can bring deaths sweet kiss

I am the harbinger of doom
As I linger there within your room

When you wake with that fearful start
It’s because I am with you in the dark.

The Vale

Hello All,
I little late posting my poem today. A you see I have written a free verse today. Hope you enjoy reading this as much I did penning it.

The Vale

The soft grass a carpet before me.
Mosses entwined within emerald blades.
Delicate as duck down softening each step.
Oaken trees stand guard to this mystical Vale.
Whispering lost secrets through dark fluted leave.
Watching as centuries, strong, solid, proud - seeing all.
My eyes are drawn to a stream fed from mountain water.
Pure, cold and fresh as it gathers a winding speed and force.
Gurgling its story - as it slips eternally over the pebbly stream bed.
Pebbles of such wonderful colours, like polished gems tempting me.
With confident noise bubbling its future as a bold raging life giving river.
Wag tails bob this way and that... Pecking at minute morsels, invisible to me.
Their comical movements like harlequin clowns performing for me and the masses.

Sisters

Good Evening,
Self explanatory really… This ones for the girls :)

Sisters

The ones who tell me what is right.
Will stand beside me in a fight.
Who know me better than anyone.
Who knew me when my life began.

Know when I hide behind a smile.
If a man I like is worth my while.
When I’m sad, fill me with titters.
My nonjudgemental older sisters.
